New Dragon Quest V PS2 Details
11.16.03 - 11:36 AM

In the newest issue of Weekly Famitsu, Square Enix has revealed some new details regarding the PlayStation 2 version of its highly popular Super Famicom title Dragon Quest V: Tenkuu no Hanayome. Similar to the Level 5-developed Dragon Quest VIII, the remake will feature an internal clock and hence day and night time. Battles will be far less static than they used to be 12 years ago: To that means, developing studio Arte Piazza is implementing various animations for your opponents and new poses for your party members. Those new movements on the screen will not only flash up when a party member is carrying out an attack, but also while he or she is waiting for his or her next turn. While the number of party members remains unchanged at three, the number of enemies they might face in battle has increased: In one screenshot, the party is pitched against eight monsters.

Dragon Quest V: Tenkuu no Hanayome is set for a spring 2004 release in Japan. Since the game has been included in Square Enix's projections for the current fiscal year, it can be expected to be available in its home market prior April 1st 2004.
