11.12.03 - 4:03 PM

Chunsoft has revealed its 20th anniversary PlayStation 2 title in this week's issue of Weekly Famitsu. Titled Kinpachi 3nen B-Gumi Sensei - Densetsu no Kyoudan ni Tate, the game is based on the popular anime series of the same name. Described as a roleplay drama with 2D character models and backgrounds, the game is being produced by Kouichi Nakamura and supervised by Ichirou Ishi. It will feature an original story centered around Kinpachi. The player will assume the role of Manten Matsumoto, thereby taking charge of the 3B. By introducing Satoko Morikawa, Ei Inoue and Kazutaka Ozaki of Kiki's Delivery Service and Tonari no Totoro fame as members of the development team, Chunsoft has sticked to its promise to bring in some of the country's top anime producer to develop the title. While playing the game, fans will get to listen to the voices of about 100 characters. The ultimate goal will be to get the protagonist's students to graduate from 3B.

Kinpachi 3nen B-Gumi - Densetsu no Kyoudan ni Tate is currently 70% complete and will be available in Japan sometime in spring 2004.
