PS2 Dragon Quest V First Screens, New Details
10.29.03 - 10:10 PM

Dragon Quest V: Tenkuu no hanayome's original SFC version had sold 2,800,000 copies in Japan, and has never been published in English, though this new version is lighting up hopes for an English language release. As announced previously, the staff will include the usual Yuuji Horii (scenario/game design), Akira Toriyama (character design) and Kouichi Sugiyama (music), who've been working on all the games in the series, and newcomer Shintarou Majima who worked on the SFC DQI-II, III and VI, and the PS DQIV and VII. Developer Arte Piazza had worked on the SFC DQIII and Dragon Quest VII.

The remake should have a visual style close to that of DQVII with polygonal characters, as can be seen on the first few screens. You can also check out a scan from Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump, which published these pictures.
