09.26.03 - 4:58 PM

Sega has opened the official websites for its two newest Sakura Taisen titles, Sakura Taisen Monogatari - Mysterious Paris and Sakura Taisen V: Episode 0 - Arano no Samurai Musume. The former will take place in Paris between the events of Sakura Taisen 3 and Sakura Taisen 4. The five girls of the Paris Kagekidan are searching for a dancer named Jean Wall. Unlike previous installments of the series, Mysterious Paris will be a true adventure title, without the trademark turn-based mecha battles.

Sakura Taisen V: Episode 0 - Arano no Samurai Musume will introduce the members of the New York Kagekidan Hoshigumi, the cast of Sakura Taisen 5 - Saraba Itoshiki Hito yo. In the series' timeline, Episode 0 will take place before Sakura Taisen 5. It will take players to the United States in the year 1927. The protagonist is a 16-year old, katana-wielding cowgirl by the name of Jemini Sunrise. She will leave her homestate Texas on the back of her beloved horse Rally for New York City. Her departure however, is being blocked by a steam armor and soon after meets a mysterious man. This is just the beginning of a major conflict. The game's producers will be Ouji Hiroi, Kousuke Fujishima and Kouhei Tanaka will return as character designer and composer respectively. Satoru Akahori acts as scenario director and Production IG, the company behind the Tales series anime sequences will be in charge of Episode 0's anime sequences.

Sakura Taisen Monogatari - Mysterious Paris will be available in Japan sometime in February 2004 for 6,980 yen ($62.31 US). Sakura Taisen V: Episode 0 - Arano no Samurai Musume so far is only listed for a release sometime next year.

In further Sakura Taisen-related news, Ouji Hiroi mentioned at today's presentation, that Sakura Taisen 5 - Saraba Itoshiki Hito yo itself will not be revealed until early 2004.
