Namco has released its financial data for the first three months of the current fiscal year 2003/2004. The company reported consolidated sales of 35.5 billion yen (296.28 million USD) and a net profit worth 591 million yen (4.93 million USD). Just like during the previous year, the continued success of its Taiko no Tatsujin series helped Namco to these solid results. In the US, the Monolith Soft-developed PlayStation 2 RPG Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille Zur Macht managed to sell 175,000 copies, while the 3D love adventure Yumeria sold 33,000 copies in Japan.

Namco's two subsidaries, Monolith Soft and Tales Studio are currently working on a number of high-profile RPGs such as Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia for Nintendo's GameCube as well as Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Boese for PlayStation 2, scheduled for releases later this year.
