Weekly Japanese Sales Charts Update

Easily outselling its competition, Sega's Initial D Special Stage for the PlayStation 2 entered the charts at spot 1, selling 180,457 copies upon its debut. Square Enix's light-hearted PlayStation 2 RPG Hanjuku Eiyuu Tai 3D (Hanjuku Hero VS 3D) entered the charts at spot 3, selling 97,943 copies since its June 26th release. Nintendo's GameBoy Advance re-release of Mother (Earthbound) 1 and 2 slipped to spot 4, selling 36,767 copies this week and a total of 171,667 copies. Another new entry can be found at spot 7. Gust's Viorate no Atelier - The Alchemist of Gramnat 2 for the PlayStation 2 sold 31,726 copies during its first week in the charts. Viorate no Atelier is followed by Koei's PS2 strategy title Sangokushi Senki 2 (Dynasty Tactics 2), which sold 27,974 copies. By selling 7,118 copies this week, Pokemon Box Ruby and Sapphire for the GameCube reached a total of 131,835 copies, at spot 16. In the meantime, Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby slipped to spots 17 and 23 this week, selling 7,045 copies (for a total of 2,221,735 copies) and 6,636 copies (for a total of 2,163,452 copies) respectively. Yet another new entry is NEC Interchannel's Episode of the Clovers for the Dreamcast, which came in at spot 24, having sold 5,945 copies. Kid's PlayStation 2 adventure Never 7 - the end of infinity sold 5,038 copies in its first week, thereby entering the charts at spot 26. Square Enix's GBA RPG Dragon Quest Monsters Caravan Heart fell from spot 20 to 31, adding another 3,751 copies to its total of 542,377 copies. Selling 3,628 copies this week and a total of 29,975 copies, Koei's MMORPG Nobunaga's Ambition Online for PlayStation 2 dropped to spot 32 this week. The most recent installment of Nintendo's long-running Fire Emblem series of strategy RPGs slipped to spot 34, selling 3,522 copies this week for a total of 223,575 copies. NEC Interchannel's Majo no Ochakai for Dreamcast entered the charts at spot 42, selling 2,948 copies in its first week. Capcom's GBA RPG Rockman EXE 3 Black dropped to spot 45, after having sold 2,600 copies this week and a total of 128,283 copies. Now Production's GameBoy Advance remake of the Super Famicom classic Metal Max 2 sold 2,529 copies in its second week, thereby reaching a total of 7,449 copies. Marvellous Interactive's GBA title Bokujou Monogatari Mineral Town no Nakamatachi (Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town) dropped from spot 32 to 48, selling 2,522 copies this week for a total of 82,749 copies. Konami's Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 8 came in at spot 49, selling 2,490 copies this week and a total of 117,489 copies.
