In the most recent edition of Famitsu, new details regarding the PlayStation 2 and GameCube releases of Tengai Makyou (Far East of Eden) 2 and 3 have surfaced. Tengai Makyou II Manjimaru, which will now feature new movie scenes and a 3D field map, will be available on September 25th for the GameCube, and as previously reported, on October 2nd for the PlayStation 2.

The PlayStation 2 version of Tengai Makyou III Namida will ship on DVD. The project's supervisor will be no other than its creator, Ouji Hiroi (better known for producing Sakura Taisen). The character designer will be Torajirou Tsujino. While illustrations of the game's protagonist and heroine are already finished, they have yet to receive names. Other characters set to appear in the game are a holy woman from the Land of Fire, a one-eyed hunter, a mask-wearing oddball, a kitten sorceress, a bow-carrying man, a mysterious haniwa, a dragon elder, a thief named Kaede, a bone warrior filled with hatred, an apparently evil princess, a giant carrying an offertory box on his shoulders, the devil, and a goblin manipulating human souls. Screens from the game will be shown for the first time during a July 7th event. The game's animation system will be partially based on Sakura Taisen's. Taking place in nine kingdoms on Kyushu, the title's keyword will be love romance. In an interview with Famitsu's editor-in-chief Hirokazu Hamamura, Hiroi also confirmed that the doping system will find its successor in Tengai Makyou III.

Tengai Makyou III Namida is set for a spring 2004 release.
