E3: Castlevania: Lament of Innocence Details Announced
05.14.03 - 11:30 AM

During a press conference today, Konami Computer Entertainment America announced Castlevania: Lament of Innocence for the PlayStation 2. The game, which is being developed by the same team that delivered the legendary PlayStation title Symphony of the Night, will take place in the 11th century and let players control Leon, the very first Belmont. After a nobleman has arranged to marry Leon's love interest Sara, the Belmont hero finds out that she was taken to the castle of Count Dracula. In the beginning, you are free to enter one in five doors each leading to a different area within the castle. More than 35 different enemies, sub bosses and of course the Count himself will challenge Leon on his way to free Sara. Apart from standard Castlevania weaponry, seven orbs of power as well as 10 action relics allow for the creation of powerful special moves.

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence will be available in the US sometime in November. RPGFan will bring you more on the Koji Igarashi-designed title as our extensive E3 coverage will shift into high gear.
