05.12.03 - 10:58 PM

As previously reported, Capcom posted a loss of 19.5 billion yen (166.35 million USD) during the last fiscal year ending on March 31st 2003. Today, some more details regarding the company's future plans were released. Following the resignation of Shinji Mikami as head of the production 4 team, another company veteran, executive director Yoshiki Okamoto will resign from his position on June 20th. Looking into the future, Capcom hopes the releases of Biohazard Outbreak (Resident Evil Outbreak), Onimusha 3 and Dino Crisis 3 will lead to an increase in sales of both PlayStation 2 and Xbox software. In total, the company plans to sell 7.60 million units of PlayStation 2 software, 2.20 million units of GameCube software, 2.04 million copies of GameBoy Advance software and 800,000 copies of Xbox software. On the financial front, sales are projected to rise only slightly compared to the last fiscal year, to 63 billion yen (537.45 million USD), whereas a net profit of 4.2 billion yen (35.83 million USD) would mean a quick return into the profit zone.
