New Details Regarding FFXI Public Beta Test
04.14.03 - 4:44 PM

As previously reported, Square Enix USA is accepting applications for the public beta test of the North American version of Final Fantasy XI. Following months of speculation, it is now also clear that just like in Japan, players on this side of the Pacific will be able to choose between a PlayStation 2 and PC version of Square's first MMORPG.

The former requires a console, PS2 network adaptor and a 56k or faster internet connection. The latter requires a PC equipped with a Pentium III 800MHz CPU, Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP, installed DirectX 8.1, a Direct3D compatible AGP graphics accelerator with 32MB RAM, 5GB of free hard disk space, a CD-ROM drive and an internet connection of at least 56k.

RPGFan will keep you posted on all further developments.
