Sega Announces Phantasy Star Re-Releases

3D Ages, a company founded by Sega and D3 Publisher earlier this year has announced several re-releases of Sega classics for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Among them are three of Sega's most famous RPGs:Phantasy Star, Phantasy Star 2: At the End of Restoration as well as Phantasy Star: At the End of the Millennium. Phantasy Star was originally released in 1987, while the latter were originally released for Sega's MegaDrive in 1989 and 1993 respectively.

Phantasy Star, Phantasy Star 2: At the End of Restoration and Phantasy Star: At The End of the Millennium will be re-released on PS2 at a retail price of 2,500 yen (20.08USD). No release date has been announced so far.

On other Sega-related news, the company has fixed the release date of the first PlayStation 2 incarnation of the Sakura Taisen series. Sakura Taisen Atsuki Chishio Ni, a remake of the original Sakura Taisen, will be released on February 27th in Japan. The standard version will retail for 6,800 yen (54.61USD), while the limited edition will be available for 9,800 yen (78.71USD).
