Breath of Fire V Tops Japanese Charts

Capcom's PlayStation 2 RPG Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter has sold 80,059 copies since its November 14th release, thereby claiming the No.1 spot of the Japanese sales charts. The third installment of Enix's Dragon Quest gaiden, Torneko 3, sold another 38,125 copies to bring its grand total to 428,224 copies. Square's PlayStation One remakes of Final Fantasy I and II lost ground, but remained in the top 10, at spots 10 and 9 respectively. Final Fantasy II sold another 14,380 copies (for a total of 104,551) and Final Fantasy I 13,547 with a total of 103,074 copies sold. Atlus' GameBoy Adavance RPG Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children: Book of Darkness entered the charts at spot 12, selling 6,838 copies, while SMT Book of Light sold 4,848 copies to claim spot 24. D3 Publisher's PS2 adventure game Thread Colors came in at 22, selling 5,477 copies. Tales of the World Narikiri Dungeon 2 for the GBA slipped from spot 11 to 23, with sales of 4,963 this week and a total of 119,229 overall. Idea Factory's simulation RPG Gakuen Toshi Varanoir sold another 2,705, for 14,388 sold copies since its October 31st release.
