E3: Konami Talks Suikoden III

Konami met with RPGFan today to discuss the upcoming Suikoden III, as well as Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. Basically due to time constraints, this will be just a list of topics with information.

Suikoden III

Suikoden III is a direct sequel to Suikoden I and II. Despite rumors that other companies were vying for the title, Konami will be doing the localization themselves. The game will not feature voice acting, and it currently has a Fall release date in the US.

Following the fall TGS demo, Suikoden III was delayed until this July in Japan. Reasons for this were rather spartan, but Konami said that the development team wanted to improve upon the game and polish it. We did notice that the battle system runs very slowly, especially compared to how quickly Suikoden I and II ran.

Suikoden Online

Long rumored, there is still no confirmation that an online Suikoden title is in development. Konami did say that the idea is being considered though.

Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance

No exact reason was given for the name change from the Japanese White Night Concerto, but Konami did want to stay with a musical name. The representative we talked to wasn't sure why the game was being promoted so little in the Japanese media, but it has been rumored among the fans (not the company) that the game is running late in development.

Other Castlevania titles

Currently there is not any Castlevania titles being planned for PlayStation 2, GameCube, or Xbox. There is a Konami compilation disc that has a classic Castlevania title, but it's for PC. No word on utilizing the Dreamcast Castlevania that was in development for any other systems.

Tokimeki Memorial

Once again fanboys, there are NO plans for a US release of Tokimeki Memorial. Get over it.

Online Gaming

Currently there is nothing announced for any online RPGs.

Other games

Konami has no other RPGs planned past Suikoden III. No announcement has been made to release Illusion of the Evil Eyes for GBA, and there's no confirmation of Vandal Hearts 3.
