Red Becomes Part of Sega

Red Entertainment (formerly Red Company), the company which is best known for the Sakura Taisen series, has become a subsidiary of Sega. Already last year, Sega acquired a commanding 67% stake in the company.

According to Red Entertainment president Yasuaki Nagoshi, the move, however, will not prevent his company from continuing current projects with other game companies.

Sega's COO, Tetsuya Kayama, expressed his hope that the acquisition of Red Entertainment will, in particular, strengthen Sega's project design and collaboration capabilities.
