Final Fantasy Tactics Goes GBA

Square has announced the first game to be released for a Nintendo system, seven years after the company's departure. Final Fantasy Tactics, Square's heralded strategy RPG, will be released for GameBoy Advance sometime this year. While details are unknown, it is pretty safe to say that it will be a direct port from the PlayStation original, given the short development time of only a few months.

On a side note, Square expressed its intentions of releasing three or four GameBoy Advance titles before the end of the year, with two of them shipping around Christmas. The new, yet to be revealed Final Fantasy title for both GBA and GameCube is also expected to ship during the holiday season.

For reference, Final Fantasy Tactics for PSX was originally released in 1997 and has sold more than 1 million copies in Japan.
