Eidos Announces New Localization Division

Late in the day yesterday, Eidos Interactive announced the creation of a new publishing imprint, Fresh Games. The label was designed so that the company could publish quirky and odd games that originate in Japan—games that wouldn’t normally ever make it to US shores.

Debut titles for the new division include Mr. Mosquito (aka Ka), Mad Maestro (formerly Bravo Music) and Legaia 2: Duel Saga—which astute RPG fans will recognize as the sequel to Legend of Legaia.

Mike McGarvey, CEO of Eidos PLC states “Fresh Games is considered a boutique label, created solely to expose gamers to unique and captivating gameplay experiences that traditionally have been unavailable outside of Japan. With Mister Mosquito, Mad Maestro, and Legaia 2, we will change people's perceptions of what constitutes a great game.”

Look for the first 3 Fresh Games titles to hit shelves in Spring of 2002.
