Morrowind News and Pics

Bethesda Softworks, makers of the Elder Scrolls series for PC has announced that their latest installment, entitled Morrowind will be coming to the XBox.

The Elder Scrolls games, namely Arena and Daggerfall, were very open-ended, customizeable RPGs, even by today's standards, allowing you room to build your character any way you want, and letting you complete the main quest at your own pace, or even not at all.

Bethesda's decision to go with XBox, Morrowind project leader Todd Howard said was because, "They've done a great job on Xbox. It's the fastest system we've seen and it's easy to develop for. Morrowind is going to be something really unique, and we finally have a system that can do it justice."

Microsoft is also pleased with the move, as XBox Platform General Manager J Allard said, "When Bethesda showed us Morrowind last year, we were tremendously impressed. We believe this will be the only RPG of its kind on any future-generation video game systems."

Morrowind is being planned as a lauch title, and should be released with the XBox. Until then, we've got some screen shots for you here. We'll keep you posted with updates from E3.
