Square’s Untitled RPG Gets A Name!

From Software has announced a sequel to its PlayStation 2 RPG, Evergrace. This "prequel" will be similar to the first, in that the game will not keep track of experience points. Instead, your character is made stronger by using new equipment and by gaining new abilities that you receive from each. The biggest difference between the two games is that Evergrace 2 will allow you to have a party of up to three characters at the same time. This system is believed to be like the system that was used in Secret of Mana, but with no multiplayer option. The main character of the first game, Yuterald, will return, but this time Fillna and Ryana will join him in his adventures.

Evergrace 2 is currently scheduled for a summer 2001 release in Japan for the PlayStation 2. There is no word on whether or not it will be released in North America, but it is highly likely.

Square’s once untitled "portable mystery RPG" for the WonderSwan Color has now been given a title. Blue Wing Blitz, a strategy RPG, is the second of Square’s new RPGs for the WonderSwan Color. The game allows players to take control of monoplanes and seaplanes on a 3D battlefield. No date or pricing has been set for the Japanese release. As more information becomes available, be sure that we will keep you updated!
