Atlus Releases Robopon: Sun Version

On Monday, Atlus announced the release of its latest Game Boy Color RPG, Robopon: Sun Version. Cody, the hero, is now the owner of the Robopon Dispatching Company, thanks to his absent-minded grandfather. In order to save the company from financial ruin, he goes forth on a journey to create the ultimate Robopon, which he hopes will strengthen the brand recognition of the Robopon Dispatching Company.

Robopon features over 150 different custom-built robots used to trade and battle. Each Robopon can be modified and upgraded with different tools and parts, which are found during the course of the game. Also, Robopon: Sun Version allows two players to pit their Robopon against one another via a Game Link or the innovative “GB Kiss,” an infrared (IR) port built into the cartridge itself allowing players to trade their Robopon even if they do not have link cables. The “GB Kiss” is able to read many different IR signals, like those from a TV remote. Using these IR signals has different effects in the game, like healing your Robopon. Robopon: Sun version also comes equipped with a built-in clock and speaker, which reminds you of special events in the game even after your Game Boy is turned off.

Robopon: Sun Version is available now, and has a suggested retail price of $34.99. The game is compatible with all versions of the Game Boy System. To celebrate the release of this intriguing RPG, we have 3 screenshots, 3 pieces of art, wallpaper, packaging, and an ad. Expect a review in a few weeks.
