SEGA LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE THEATER PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR DREAMCAST GAME "SHENMUE"

SAN FRANCISCO (November 15, 2000) - SegaŽ of America this week launched a nationwide in-theater promotional campaign for "Shenmue(tm)," the most highly anticipated Dreamcast(tm) game of the year. Created by legendary videogame developer Yu Suzuki, "Shenmue" is a critically acclaimed cinematic experience that challenges the limitations of traditional videogame genres. The in-theater campaign runs from November 10 through December 7, 2000, and includes participation from leading U.S. theaters including AMC, GCC, Clearview, Cinema Star and others. The four-week campaign also incorporates lobby exposure including character displays and posters.

"'Shenmue' is incredibly cinematic featuring immersive 3D worlds, dynamic lighting and camera angles that you would expect to see in a major motion picture," said Robert Alvarez, product manager, Sega of America. "In-theater advertising is an excellent vehicle to show off both the depth of the game and the capabilities of the Dreamcast hardware."

"Shenmue" was given four out of four stars from Time Digital and four out of four stars from U S A Today this fall. "Shenmue" is currently available in stores nationwide at a suggested retail price of $49.99. "Shenmue" is rated "T" for Teen.
