Sakura Taisen 3 Delay And Other NewsRed Company, Sega and Overworks gave a closer look of their upcoming strategy/dating sim Sakura Taisen 3: Is Paris Burning?, in a Sega Cyber Club event. The event, which was being broadcast online on Sega Cyber Club's site, unveiled the new opening song of the game. Playable demos of the game were available as the Seiyuu (voice actors) made appearances and hosted the show. Popular actresses Chisa Yokoyama, Michie Tomizawa and Kumiko Nishihara, playing repectively Sakura, Sumire and Iris, were also present in spite of the fact they're supposed to have only a small part to play in Sakura Taisen 3. The sad news is that producer of the game Hiroi Ouji announced that Sakura Taisen 3 has been delayed from its original Autumn 2000 expected release date to a Spring 2001 release. It's no big surprise for the fans of the series as the other two Sakura Taisen games, re-released for the Dreamcast, made it later than originally announced (they were scheduled for Spring and Summer and respectively came out in late May and September). Hopefully the game will make it in Spring. Yes, Fuurai no Shiren 2 scored a 36, with a 10/10 from one of the four reviewers! For comparison, this was the score obtained by Dragon Quest V or Final Fantasy IV in their time. Even though it's been said that Famitsu has softened their grading policy, this score sure is quite high. Dragon Quest director and scenario writer Yuuji Horii was recently interviewed by the famous Japanese newspaper Asahi. Asked whether or not he was bored working on Dragon Quest all the time, Mr. Horii mentioned he was looking forward to making the next DQ, which he plans to see released in 2 years. He added, ironically, that he said the same thing about Dragon Quest VII at the time of DQ6's release, and we know it took over 4 years for the sequel to come out. Here are the game figures for the week of September 18th to September 24th. For the first time in a month, Dragon Quest VII lost the first place in the top 30 sales of the week (ranking based only on the sales of said week, regardless of a game's previous sales), and the game that beat it is none other than... Sakura Taisen 2! Now why is this game still untranslated, mmh?
