More News Than You Can Shake A Sword At

Looks like RPGs are generating a lot of TV anime series lately! After the Sakura Taisen and Tales of Eternia series, Atlus' monster breeding game Shin Megami Tensei - Devil Children will get the anime treatment as well. Although the game won't hit Japanese retailers before November, the anime series will start on October 7th, and will be available for viewing every Saturday at 7:30 AM on CBC/TBS Network.

Intending to play Persona 2: Eternal Punishment but haven't bought your import copy of Persona 2: Innocent Sin yet? Well, the earlier half of Persona 2 will be released again in the Playstation The Best collection on September 14th, for a price of 2,800 yen. This version will come with 3 random Shin Megami Tensei trading cards!

Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth, Maxfive's tactical RPG, has been delayed from September 28th to a vague "by the end of October" date. The reasoning for the delay is unknown.

One more port of another system's game for the Wonderswan! Bandai is working on a WS version of the PlayStation/Saturn/PC RPG-education game Princess Maker: Yumemiru Yousei (Princess Maker: Dreaming Fairy; also known as Princess Maker 3: Fairy Tales Come True). The game is to be released in December for 4,500 yen and will apparently not carry extras or enhancements over the original released 3 years ago.

The new installment in Namco's Tales series, Tales of Eternia, has finally received a release date of November 30th.

New pics of the first Game Boy Advance RPG, Golden Sun (Ougon no Taiyou) have surfaced. Camelot's game still hasn't received a release date but you can take a look at 2 animated GIFs, three new screen shots and a piece of artwork.

Because of our downtime, we have the sales figures of this week AND last week! Note how Dragon Quest VII sold 1.8 million copies in its first week, and 1.1 million on the second week. Dragon Quest VII is bound to break the series' previous record sale, held by DQ3 with 3.8 million copies, and has sold more copies in two weeks than Final Fantasy IX did in two months!
