Orphen At Launch

Sorcerous Stabber Orphen will be a launch title with the Playstation 2. Not originally scheduled to release until early next year, Activision announced that the translation process went much more quickly than expected. The game will be called Orphen in the US, since the manga and anime series have yet to make it here.

Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong has announced the first original Chinese RPG for a console. The Eagle Shooting Heroes, which probably sounds much cooler in Chinese, is to be released on November 30th in Hong Kong and retail at $335 HKD, which is the equivalent to $43 USD.

Enix of Japan expects more than 3.9 million units of Dragon Quest VII to ship to Japanese stores by next March. According to Enix, DQ7 has already sold 3.57 million copies since August 26th.

Namco has announced that Tales of Eternia, in addition to being released this fall on the Playstation, will become an anime TV show around the same time.

A sequel to the strategy RPG Summon Night has been announced by Banpresto. Summon Night 2 for the Playstation will have two main characters, much like Dew Prism, and each will have a different storyline. Summon Night 2 will see a Japanese release next summer.

New information on Eldorado Gate, which the first chapter is now scheduled for an October 10th release in Japan. Reportedly each episode in the game, of which there are three, can be completed within 2-3 hours and each chapter will retail for 2800 yen. Experience points will not be used in the game. Eldorado Gate will have internet support and future volumes will include the use of downloading new items for the item shop.
