A New Tales Game Announced & Other News
Tales of Eternia hasn't been released, yet a new Tales title has been announced, this time for the Game Boy Color. In fact, it's a spin-off of the first game in the series, Tales of Phantasia. Entitled Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon, this new game is a Dungeon RPG to be released in November. There will be about 100 jobs in the game, such as Healer, Hunter, Samurai, etc. Kousuke Fujishima (of Oh! My Goddess and Sakura Taisen fame), who made the designs of the original Tales of Phantasia, will be doing the game's illustrations.
As previously announced, Eternal Arcadia's limited edition will contain various goods. In addition to the Skull Bracelet ("Symbol of the Sky Pirates!"), the Visual Book (A4 sized, 64 color pages), and the cellphone strap, it'll contain a Sky Pirates' Bandana, so that you can dress up like your favorite game characters. ^^; This Eternal Arcadia Limited Box will retail at a price of 9,800 yen (about $90).
Fushigi no Dungeon - Fuurai no Shiren 2, Chunsoft's newest installment in the Mystery Dungeon series (which inspired a certain other company's Mysterious Dungeon series) is due out this September 27th, and Chunsoft is holding a reservation campaign with Japanese store company Lawson. Starting August 1st, if you preorder your copy of Fuurai no Shiren 2 in any Lawson store, you'll get this Fuurai Amulet!
Lastly, here are the RPG sale figures of the week of July 3rd to July 9th. Note the high sales of Final Fantasy IX on its first three days! Super Robot Taisen Alpha is coming back in the Top 30, and promises to beat Zelda: Majora's Mask with its upcoming Dreamcast version. It looks like not so many buyers were appealed by the merchandise that came with the Square Millennium Collection of FFTactics and SaGa Frontier 2, since they already disappeared from the top 30, selling less than 5,000 copies on their second week. Last week's top sales is available here.
