Japanese retailers should be expecting a playable demo of Konami's Elder Gate for Playstation on June 10th. This demo will have five scenarios, each with over a hundred different kinds of dungeon and overworld layouts, randomly picked. Elder Gate is still on schedule for a June 22nd release for 5800 yen.

Did you really like Final Fantasy 8? Want to play more? Have a decent PC? Well look no further than Taiwanese Odinsoft, makers of a PC RPG entitled The Fallen Angels. You might say they were 'inspired' by SquareSoft's hit game; I'd rather use the phrase 'copied extensively.' The character designs are very similar to Tetsuya Nomura's, as are the in game graphics, battle system, CG backgrounds, and 3D characters. The battle system is also highly similar to FF8's Active Time Battle, plus there are 'Summon Angels' who suspiciously resemble the Guardian Forces. Imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery. Funny though that the game comes from Taiwan, infamous for their bootlegged CDs and other products. The Fallen Angels is already available in Taiwan. Here is some artwork from the game.

Blade Meredith, "Squall"
Dena Elroy, "Rinoa"
Jack Beacher, "Irvine"
Jessica Hayden, "Quistis"
Silver Silvester, "Laguna"
Vivian Broderick, "Selphie"
Tiffany Nathaniel, "???"

Here's the game's logo and some gameplay screens...judge for yourself.
