Final Fantasy IX Preview

For some time now, I've been missing in action from RPGFan. A special Happy Birthday present to RPGFan's Editor-in-Chief, Rudo, is my return to the previews scene. Today, I return to my duties as previews editor after weeks of research into Square's Final Fantasy IX. With all the buzz about the next three games in the Final Fantasy series it would only be fitting to make this week the week of Final Fantasy previews. So I think we'll do that.

We're starting off today with my preview of Final Fantasy IX. Here's a clip.

"From the perspective of many gamers, the controversial switch from a futuristic setting to a more fantasy/medieval setting is both a good and bad thing. However, many gamers are faithful that the return of Yoshitaka Amano's character designs will be the salvation of the fantasy setting. Moreover, Nobuo Uematsu returns to compose yet again for Final Fantasy IX's musical arrangement. If gamers hold true to past opinions, the storyline should make or break the game as usual."

Coming up this week we still have Krelian's preview of Final Fantasy X and my preview of Final Fantasy XI. If you miss these previews, we will force you to play the Nintendo 64 version of Superman. You know we're not kidding either...
