New Info on Pokémon X!

The next Game Boy Pokémon title, known so far as Pocket Monster X (tentative title... and it's not what it sounds like :P), was originally scheduled for an April 2000 release. But it has now been delayed to an early 2001 release. The reason for this is because Nintendo is working on new features to add to their flagship title.

First, the game will be compatible with the GBC Portable Telephone Adapter, a new device being released this autumn in Japan. This new device will allow Pokémon players to exchange pokémon or have fights with long-distance friends, through their portable telephones. They will also be able to download pokémon-related data with their portable telephones. The Portable telephone Adapter will be compatible with the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo's next system to be released this August in Japan. Nintendo has yet to make announcements about the content of the new game or its connection to the previous Pokémon games.

On a side note, Pokémon fans will also be pleased to hear that the third animated movie, "Kesshou tou no Teiou - Pichu to Pikachu" (Emperor of the Crystal Tower - Pichu & Pikachu) is to be released this July in Japan. This movie is likely to be released stateside seeing how the second movie is already on its way to American shores.
