Lunar 2 Preview

With April Fool's Day behind us, we've had a rough night in the RPGFan Staff Hut. We laughed, cried, and ate waffles while discussing the fate of the purple layout and new logo you saw yesterday. Rudo, who was devestated when we decided to put the old layout back, was seen storming out of the hut with his collection of soundtracks and telling us we were all fired. After Rudo's departure, several of us broke into song while Chrono danced on the table singing "Eyes On Me" from Final Fantasy VIII. So you can see, it was a rough night for us RPGFan staffers. I'll miss my Ashley Angel staff pic and purple layout...

Now, down to work. Working Designs is nearing ever closer to the release date for Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. In honor of the great series that is Lunar, Parn wrote a preview of the game. Parn speaks in length about the graphics and packaging for the game. Here's a clip:

"The in-game graphics retain the classic Lunar feel, with cutesy little sprites ala 16-bit RPGs, and very colorful towns and overworld maps. Attention to detail within houses and dungeons remains exactly the same as the first remake, giving the game a simplistic look. Of course, what Lunar boasts, is not the in-game graphics, but the anime. Not only is there more anime in Lunar 2: EBR than in Lunar: SSSC, but it's also much more fluid, with more animation and movement, and the CG integrated with the anime is even more impressive than before. The 7 minute opening movie blows away anything you've seen in the first game, and is just a taste of what's ahead."

That's all for today. I'm still upset over the loss of the purple layout. After I pull myself together, I'll bring you a preview of Final Fantasy IX this week. In coming weeks, expect a full preview of Evolution 2, right when I finish playing the import. Enjoy!
