May RPG Ads and New Release Dates

Square's forthcoming action RPG Vagrant Story received amazing reviews when it was released in Japan earlier this year. Currently scheduled for a release stateside this May, we have a scan of the James Bond-themed 2-page ad here.

Secondly, an advertisement of Atlus's unique musical RPG, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, has begun running in magazines. The ad boasts a very large piece of artwork, and plugs the soundtrack CD that will come packaged with the game upon its release in May. Check it out here.

An interesting note is that both of these games are currently planned to not only be released in the same month, but on the same day, May 16th. Whether these dates both hold is anyone's guess, but that may be an expensive day for RPG fans.

Finally, a few release dates for other games have changed. Threads of Fate (titled Dewprism in Japan), Square's Brave Fencer Musashi-style RPG, has moved from July 13 to July 3. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete may have been pushed back from July 3 to July 17. Chrono Cross and Parasite Eve 2, Square's two big sequels for this fall, received dates at last, for August 2 and September 1, respectively. Anachronox, the PC RPG being published by Eidos, slipped big time from the middle of July to September 15.
