Monday's News Bits

Now that the Playstation 2 has hit Japan, players may be wondering when the next RPG comes out for their brand new super console. Well you can wonder no further. FromSoftware will soon release their Action RPG EverGrace on April 27, 2000.

Taking one step back to the 32-bit consoles, Square has announced the release of Final Fantasy IX for July 19. Three of the characters were also shown recently. Zitan, a young thief who sports his very own tail. Vivi, a 9 year old black mage(why do black mages in the Final Fantasy series have to have two dots for a face? =P), and lastly Steiner, a 33 year old royal knight. And for those who couldn't stomach those three character parties that many RPGs have of late, you will be elated to hear that Final Fantasy IX returns the old four character lineup.

On the PC side of RPGs, Gamespot has conducted an interview with the lead designer of Warcraft III, Rob Pardo. Rob goes into great detail about the changes in gameplay between this Warcraft and the last.

To wrap this update up, Kadokawa Shoten is working on a new title for Dreamcast based on Record of the Loddoss War. No details are available at the moment, but the game is expected to make a public debut at the next Tokyo Game Show.
