New RPG Headed By Hiroi Ouji!

Hiroi Ouji, the man behind the hit RPG/Simulation series Sakura Taisen as well as Thousand Arms, will be working with the ACIII Corporation in their newest title Kidou Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken or Mobile Shinsengumi Burning Sword

Moeyo Ken enlists the world reknown manga artist Takahashi Rumiko(Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura, Inu-Yasha) for it's character designs and will feature both an RPG portion as well as a Simulation portion just like in Sakura Taisen, and will be allowed to lead a 3 person party in your quest to protect the streets of Kyoto.

Shinsengumi, a term you may be familar with from watching too much Rurouni Kenshin, refers to a group of swordsmen who patrolled the streets of Kyoto during the last days of the Tokugawa Shogunate and as you may have already guessed, Moeyo Ken will put you in place in an alternate past in which you, Yuzuki Shintarou, will be part of the Shinsengumi in its mission of justice.

Joining you will be the various children of the Shinsengumi captains such as Sakamoto Ryouma's son Ryuunosuke and even the help of an monster cat aptly named Nekomaru.

Promising to be partially science fiction, Moeyo Ken may very well end up being similar to Sakura Taisen (The "Kidou" in the title is usually a Mecha tribute to Gundam) and while the details are still a bit sketchy, with very few in-game shots availible, the game looks very promising.

Kidou Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken is slated for 2000 release for the Playstation platform, and look forward to a translated interview conducted by Famitsuu to be availible soon for your reading pleasure!

"The first principle of the Shinsengumi is that it is unhonorable to deviate from the warrior's path. A warrior does not know how to flee before the enemy!!" ~Saitoh Hajime Shinsengumi Captain of the 3rd Squad
