Tuesday's News Tidbits

Activision has revealed its intention to release Wizards & Warriors to a PC near you in autumn of this year.

The tale of Wizards & Warriors follow the exploits of six heroes as they journey across the land in their quest to defeat Lord Cet. As usual in many RPGs, our heroes can't complete this task with their own abilities, and need to locate a sword forged with cursed as well as blessed ore, the Mavin Sword.

Wizards & Warriors allows a player to create their own character out of several available races and professions ranging from ninjas to paladins.

Battles are played out via the "Adaptive Time-Phasing" system, which is basically a fancy way of saying that you can either choose to fight battle in a traditional turn based style of combat, or opt for a faster paced real time brawl. Considering there are over 300 different monsters the party will encounter during their travels, a few choices in combat options seems fair enough.

Also some new info on Victor Interactive's rehash of Falcom's Sorcerian ~ Apprentice of Seven Star Magic. The game will retain much of the past characteristics of the original, but will be enhanced graphically with 3D characters and maps. You can also now travel through towns on your own, rather than having to rely on preset menu of possible locales to travel to. The entire adventure spans 15 scenarios, 5 of which are exclusive to the Dreamcast. Sorcerian ~ Apprentice of Seven Star Magic is set for a japanese release on April 27 for 5800 yen. A limited edition that comes packed in with a soundtrack of this epic will be released on the same day for 6800.
