Miscellaneous Update

Remember the recently delayed Valkyrie Profile that was developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix? Well it finally came out today in Japan. Valkyrie Profile places you in the role of an immortal named Valkyrie. To sum up the game as simply as possible, you have to build a powerful army to fight a battle to end all battles. Valkyrie Profile features over 20 different characters and several story possibilities dependant on who you are using and when. If you can manage to put down Chrono Cross for just a moment, give this game a serious look.

According to information Square has given to Gamespot, the cinematics from Final Fantasy IX have been completed. This is very good news since Final Fantasy IX is slated for a spring release next year. Hopefully more information will surface on Final Fantasy IX during the Square Millennium event coming early next year.

IGNDC has posted an extremely small interview with Shen Mue's director, Keiji Okayasu. In this brief interview he speaks about his experience in helping to develop Shen Mue, as well as his hopes for feedback on the game. Also in a partially related story, Famitsu has given Shen Mue a score of 8, 9, 8, 8 for a total of 33/40. While not exactly the highest score imaginable, it it still a decent grade considering how tough Famitsu can be when they critique a title.

Finally, IGNPC has posted up an interview with Nox's Executive Producer, John Hight. Nox is an RPG with action elements that is most often compared to Diablo. Except the premise is radically different, as Nox's hero is a regular guy who ends up in a irregular situation. In this interview John Hight explains a bit about Nox's gameplay and what multiplayer will be like, as well as why it is an important facet of Nox's overall package.
