Final Fantasy 2 Review

After the favorable review of Final Fantasy 2 on SNES from RPGFan editor ff (I don't need to tell you that he's a Final Fantasy fan :P), we now have a review from a reader that does not agree with ff's review. It's a known fact that Final Fantasy 2 is regarded very highly by Final Fantasy fans everywhere and it may be tough for them to read a review that isn't really favorable. Personally, I'm glad to see this review because I don't feel so alone anymore. I did not play Final Fantasy 2 when it came out and only tried it about a year ago (along with a lot of other Snes RPGs). I heard people praise this game for years and after finally trying it, I was like: "that's it???". I did not understand why people liked this game so much because to me, it looked pretty average. Our reader here explains this with one word: "Nostalgia". I think he just might be right after all. Of course, keep in mind that this is only my OPINION and I know that a lot of people don't agree with me on this. I guess the "nostalgia" factor is understandable though because I'll always regard Phantasy Star 2 as "special" because it was my first 16-bit RPG so I can certainly understand why so many people love Final Fantasy 2 with such a passion.

Anyway, I'll cut this out now because this is after all an update about a Final Fantasy 2 review and not an editorial by yours truly so if you want to hear a little more about this different view of Final Fantasy 2 from our reader (which I happen to agree with), you can view it by clicking here.
